Good Guy, Keanu Reeves

Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1964 to an English mother, Patricia Bond and a Hawaiian-American father, Samuel Reeves Jr., Keanu Reeves' life is not that all wonderful.  His father left them when he was just about three years old.  They have to travel to different countries due to the nature of his mother's work, a costume designer and due to the fact that his mother has been married many times to different men with different nationalities.  He attended different schools all throughout his young life.  He has difficulty reading and interpreting words and symbols and suffered dyslexia.  Due to this condition, he had difficulty coping with his studies and was unable to graduate high school.

Before the big screen, Keanu Reeves started out in a coca-cola commercial when he is just 16 years old.

He made another commercial for the cereal company, Kelloggs in 1987

His first movie role was in Youngblood, which was directed by Peter Markle in 1986 starring Robe Lowe and Patrick Swayze.

Later on in 1991, he would have another movie with Patrick Swayze entitled Pointbreak, a box-office hit movie which is directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

He has such a good character that people find it very easy to work with him.  He has two movies with Sandra Bullock,

two with Rachel Weisz

two with Charlize Theron

and three with Carrie Ann Moss in the Matrix trilogy.

He has several blockbuster movies under the helm of  great directors such as David Ayer, Wachowski Brothers, Sam Raimi, Bernardo Bertolucci, Francis Ford Coppola, Kenneth Branagh, and Kathryn Bigelow, among others.

When he is not busy filming movies, he can be seen with his band by the name of Dogstar.  He is seen giving food to needy people and usually talks and spends time with homeless people in the Los Angeles County.  He has given significant amount of contributions to charities and children's hospitals and foundations to help needy kids, as well as research institutions like Stand Up to Cancer and others.

"Money is the last thing I think about"

was the words that Keanu Reeves was quoted for when he was interviewed by Hello! Magazine in 2003.  Keanu Reeves is really one of kind.  A very bankable actor, a good singer, a great co-worker and above all, a really good guy.

Finally a fan made video dedicated to this great actor.

  1. Always liked him as an actor, even when he did Bill & Teds... :) cool article

  2. Thanks Greg, and by the way, did you know that there is already a script for the supposed third sequel to this movie, Bill and Ted. The original actors, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter already saw the script and said that they would like to do the sequel. But unfortunately, no filming or official announcement is made to this date.
