Andrew Garfield dons the mask of Spider-Man once again in this latest installment of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but unfortunately, we're gonna be talking about trailers this time. Since I haven't watched this movie yet so, we're even. Anyway, welcome back to Dateline Movies. Our first ever trailer review is about one of the most anticipated movies of all time, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

What we saw in the trailers?

Well, we saw a lot of epic events in these trailers. The trailers also contain a plot. In the trailers, Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, played by Garfield (Never let Me Go) is now on a relationship with her beloved Gwen Stacy, played by Stone (The Croods). Peter is still taking care of his Aunt May, played by Field (Lincoln) as he maintains his superhero duties. Meanwhile, three powerful villains have been unleashed into the city. One of them is Electro (the man in blue lightning), played by Foxx (Rio), who is obviously really angry at Spidey. Another one of them is the Rhino (the man with the machine gun), played by Giamatti (Sideways), who is just your average thug, who will soon get his own armor, and the last is Peter's best friend, Harry Osborn, played by DeHaan (Chronicle), who is hiding some very big secrets from the Parker family.

Together, they will destroy Spidey, and maybe even New York. But could they be targeting something else? (That's just my guess) As the enemies become stronger and their numbers grow bigger, more secrets of Peter's parents are starting to break loose (mainly the subway lab). Will these secrets destroy him?

What I think of the trailer?

Wow, the trailer really caught my eyes and attention, with the intense action sequences and the undeniably large number of hidden surprises here. (I'll tell them later in Spotted!) What I meant to say is, the trailer packs enough action and memorable moments to make you come to the theaters to watch the movie. I'm really excited for the sequel.

With that, I hope you have enjoyed this review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer here on Dateline Movies. I hope you guys will watch this movie, because you really don't want to miss this one. Spotted!: Trivia and Hidden Surprises (Spoiler Alert!)

Source 1, Source 2

Source
1. Bird Brains - During the sequence when the enigmatic "Man in the Shadows" was walking on an OsCorp Tower corridor, there are two things that will give you nostalgia there. One is on the left, which are iron wings and on the right, you have mechanical tentacles. The wings harness is a reference to the Vulture, who is a former employee of OsCorp.

For more information about the Vulture Wings, click here and for it's possible user in the movies, click here.
2. Armed and Ready - On the same scene as above, there are mechanical octopus tentacles on the "Man in the Shadows" back and the viewer's right side. This is a reference to Doctor Octopus, who is also a former OsCorp employee and you might remember him being played by Alfred Molina in Spider-Man 2.

For more information about Doctor Octopus's tentacles, click here and for it's famed creator, click here.
3. Black and White - On the scene where Harry Osborn admitted to Peter Parker that OsCorp had his family under surveillance, he was using a keyboard which contained several hidden surprises. One of the virtual tablets was labeled "Venom Storage 7-U". This is a reference to Spidey's most villainous enemy, Venom. You may remember him being portrayed by Topher Grace as Eddie Brock in Spider-Man 3.

For more information about the alien substance, click here and for it's most prominent host, click here.

4. The Living Vampire - On the exact same scene, two of the virtual tablets give another surprise. These tablets are labeled "Dr. Morbius File", which is a reference to the Marvel antihero, Morbius, The Living Vampire, who also cross-paths with the web head.

For more information about Morbius, click here.

5. The Hunter Down Under - Again, on the exact same scene, there is another virtual tablet with a surprise. This virtual tablet is labeled "Australian Project", which is a possible reference to Kraven the Hunter, which is also another Spidey enemy. Although the mainstream version of Kraven is Russian, this version is Australian, because like many of the current Marvel movies, it is set in the Ultimate Marvel continuity.

For more information about Kraven the Hunter, click here.

Source
6. Sinister Six Plus One - Well ain't it a coincidence that we get a Sinister Six surprise as a sixth item. During a specific scene where there are seven doors (the other one is shown of picture), they have been opened. Do you know what it's about? Think about it, we have the Vulture Wings and Doctor Octopus Tentacles, the Venom suit, a crazed hunter, and a vampire, and what do we get? We get the Sinister Six, a Spider-Man revenge club, who really wants Spider-Man gone. The original line-up is lead by Doctor Octopus, with Kraven the Hunter, Vulture, Electro, Sandman and Mysterio. You may remember the Sandman being acted out by Thomas Haden Church in Spider-Man 3. However, since neither Sandman nor Mysterio appear yet, we may have this line-up instead. My version of this line-up has Doctor Octopus, Vulture, the Lizard, Rhino, Electro and the Green Goblin. The line-up may change depending upon the producers' decisions. In fact, since we are in the Ultimate Marvel timeline, we may have the Ultimate Six as another possibility. Also, did I forget a seventh door? We may have a Sinister Seven here, with Venom. We may even have the Shocker, Mysterio and Morbius as added members.
For more information about Shocker, Rhino, Electro, and Mysterio, please visit The Amazing Spider-Man review to know them.
For more information about the original team, click here.
For more information about the Ultimate team, click here.
For more information about the Lizard click here and for this movie's version of the Green Goblin, click here.

7. The Chemistry Set - For the next surprise, we go to Richard Parker's Subway Laboratory. Look to the far left of the laboratory. What you see is quite small, but it has small black vials, contained in test tubes. This is another reference to Venom.

source
8. Viral Marketing - Back at the near beginning when Spider-Man and Rhino first met, the Daily Bugle is seen at the top right side of the frame. There is a message written on the top wall, which says "Follow the Daily Bugle on Tumblr", which is actually an existing account. Talk about viral marketing. For those who don't know, the Daily Bugle is the place of work for Peter Parker, where in the original trilogy he works there as a freelance photographer and is run by J. Jonah Jameson, who was played by J.K. Simmons in his most iconic role yet.
For the Daily Bugle Tumblr page, click here.
For more information about the newspaper, click here and for it's editor-in-chief, click here.
Source

9. Unlucky - Okay, the Black Cat didn't have that much connection with the movie, yet. As you might have known, Felicity Jones will play Felicia Hardy, also known as the Black Cat. Black Cat is like Batman's Catwoman. They're both cat burglars and in some way, in love with the title character. There was one specific scene that showed Jones, in a really small part of the trailer. Remember the Green Goblin in front of the OsCorp Tower window? Yep, that's her.
For more information about the Black Cat, click here.
10. Into the Mad House! - Oh, I forgot something. Back at the keyboard scene, there was a virtual tablet labeled "Ravencroft". Does it ring any bells? It's the mental hospital where in Spidey most insane foe is incarcerated, Carnage, who is also a bearer of a symbiote similar to Venom's.
For more information about Carnage, click here.
Source
11. The Ultimate Spider-Slayer - Speaking of Ravencroft, there was a scene there, which probably took place in either OsCorp or Ravencroft, but I believe it is more on Ravencroft. This was a small scene where in a man picked up some red test tubes. This may be BJ Novak as Alistair Smythe, the son of Spencer Smythe, who created the Spider-Slayers, who also becomes one himself. What he may be holding are Carnage symbiote containers, since they're red, and Carnage is colored red. What could they be cooking up in Ravencroft?

For more information about Alistair Smythe, click here.

TMNT

Source
TMNT (2007)
 - Parental Guidance is Advised (For Language, Violence and Some Disturbing Scenes)
Featuring the voices of: Sarah Michelle Gelar, Patrick Stewart, Chris Evans, Mako, Nolan North, Mikey Kelly, Mitchell Whitfield and James Arnold Taylor

It's been quite a while when the Turtles' live action adventure was seen in 1993. They came back in 2007 for this crime-fighting journey in New York City to save the world from evil once again.

After their previous escapade with the Shredder, the Turtles are now disbanded and went their separate ways. The goofy Michelangelo, voiced by Kelly (Invasion America) is now a clown known as "Cowabunga Carl", celebrating birthday parties for kids. The wise Leonardo, voiced by Taylor (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) went to training in Central America. The brainy Donatello, voiced by Whitfield (My Cousin Vinny), is now a scientist, specializing in Information Technology, and the violent Raphael, voiced by North (Deadpool) continues to stalk the night as "The Nightwatcher". Of course, their friends are here too. April O' Neal, voiced by Gellar (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) and boyfriend Casey Jones, voiced by Evans (Fantastic Four) are currently operating their own Indiana Jones-esque company, finding mysterious relics and what-not.

While everyone is busy with their lives, the enigmatic Max Winters, voiced by Stewart (X-Men), April and Casey's client, hired the remains of the Foot Clan to search for the ancient thirteen beasts before a portal opens. Winters is secretly an immortal general named Yaotl, and is determined to capture every last one of the beasts that was unleashed more than 3 generations ago, while accompanied by his resurrected stone generals to obtain a higher form of power.

With the news heard, the Turtles have to reunite to combat the evil before it destroys Manhattan, if not the world! However, uneasiness escalated between the brothers as Raph conspires to work alone, while their elderly sensei, Master Splinter, played by Mako (Conan the Barbarian, on his last performance) forbids them to fight unless they learn to work together again. With time running incredibly short, can the brothers join forces once more before Yaotl and his clan end the Earth?

What I think of the movie?

I got to say, this movie has gone back to its violent and serious roots. The movie lacks the humor of the previous films, including the shows that were inspired by those movies. With the serious sibling rivalry as well as the realistic and chaotic action sequences, this is a very mature movie. Luckily, it did not go entirely adult themed as their original comic book counterparts, but it did not reach the heights of our expectations as well.

Let me first start with the animation. The animation and the fight scenes are incredible. It looks entirely real and the voice acting was superb. This was so because all voice actors are veterans, and most of them are only heard on animated series. However, the movie itself is not satisfying. The story is the main obstacle here. It's completely complicated and it does not seem to fit the Turtles' resumes. We expected to see some wise-cracks, especially from Mikey while beating up a real Turtle worthy villain like Shredder, but what we had is a thinly sketched villain, only wishing to die, nothing else. Mainly, the story is unsatisfying and unmemorable. This TMNT movie may have had its action packed moments, but it's not enough to wow us entirely.

Hopefully, Michael Bay would bring back the brothers to their goofy antics. Okay, Bay may not be the best director in mind, but we should always hope for the better. Rest In Peace Mako! With that, I hope you have enjoyed this review of TMNT here on Dateline Movies. Be sure to Like, Tweet or Share before you leave. Do you have a movie you wish to be featured? You know him as the all new Amazing Spider-Man!

Source
Los Angeles, California was his birthplace and British mother, Lynn Hillman and American father, Richard Garfield (originally Garfinkel) are his parents. With his parents and his elder brother, they moved to Surrey, United Kingdom. While he was studying there, he began acting in school plays.

By the year 2005, he debuted on the television program, Sugar Rush. After this, he appeared alongside the unbelievably intellectual Doctor in Doctor Who. As a result, he received an extremely large English crowd following, all wanting to meet him.

He made his official Hollywood debut in Robert Redford's Lions For Lambs, alongside Redford, Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep. However, this movie was received unfavorably. This did not stop him from having his breakthrough in both the three-part Red Riding and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, a visionary work from ex-Monty Python member, Terry Gilliam. Both were released on the year 2009.

By the the next decade, he got starring roles both on the drama, Never let Me Go, with Keira Knightley and Carrey Mulligan and the biopic movie, The Social Network, with Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake.

On 2012, he performed his most notable role as his childhood hero, Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man, with Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, Sally Field as Aunt May, Denis Leary as Capt. Stacy and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. In this movie, he met his girlfriend Emma Stone, and they are currently a couple. This year, he'll be returning to the big-screen again as Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

I hope this Spider-Man joins the Avengers soon.

Your friendly neighborhood, Spider-Man gets a rebooted adventure in this movie. Welcome once again, and today we're reviewing Spidey's previous film. With it's sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, coming really soon to theaters, it's really necessary to talk about its predecessor.

source

What is the movie about?

With Sam Raimi abandoning his planned fourth installment for his Spider-Man franchise, Sony Pictures rebooted the franchise, basing more on the Ultimate version of the web head. If you're wondering what that means, the Ultimate version of him and several of Marvel characters are modernized versions of themselves, with a more mature tone and slightly altered origins and personalities. We have a lot of films based on the Ultimate Marvel comics line, but they will be featured separately in the coming months.

Marc Webb replaces Sam Raimi as director in the movie. In the film, Peter Parker, played by Garfield (The Social Network), discovered a mystery linked with his parents. Curious, he sets out to discover the truth about them and sneaks into OsCorp Tower, the company where Peter's crush, Gwen Stacy, played by Stone (Easy A) works. While investigating a chamber in the tower, a mutated spider bites him on his back. Now with new found spider powers, Peter makes an updated version of Spidey's costume and wears the mask as Spider-Man.

However, Dr. Curt Conners, played by Ifans (Notting Hill), forced himself to try his new lizard formula that he created with Peter, while Peter was investigating the mystery. He did this because OsCorp did not accept his project, so he wanted to prove to them that it works. It worked, but it eventually transformed him into the vicious, Lizard. Capt Stacy, played by Leary (Ice Age), Gwen's father, branded both Spidey and Lizard as criminals, and he pursued both men. Spidey must learn to accept the death of his Uncle Ben, played by Sheen (Apocalypse Now), keep Gwen and her father and his Aunt May, played by Field (Forrest Gump) out of harm's way, and stop the Lizard before all is lost.

What I think of the movie?

The movie re-encounters the predictable origin story of Spider-Man from the previous films, but with a few twists and turns. These added plot twists are mainly directed from the Ultimate Spider-Man books. A clear example is the mystery of his parents. There were also changes from both continuities. These include Dr. Conners (He does not work for OsCorp, but Peter's professor), Uncle Ben's murder (Uncle Ben was supposed to die in a car while waiting for Peter, who was away, plus, Peter was supposed to be in a boxing match instead of a store setting), and Peter's occupation (He is not a member of the Daily Bugle. In fact, he doesn't even have a job here).

Though the original trilogy was much more dedicated to the source material than it's successor, not being fully dedicated to the books and the story becoming somewhat predictable, this movie still managed to be a pretty amazing film. An amazing movie indeed via the spectacular performances, especially from Garfield and the other leads. The kick-butt CG action sequences are the highlights of the film. I'm really excited for the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, where in Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, BJ Novak and Dane DeHaan rise up as Electro, The Rhino, Alistair Smythe and The Green Goblin, respectively to fight the Spidey. The sequel will come out on May 2, 2014, worldwide.

Spotted!: Trivia and Hidden Surprises (Spoiler Alert!)

Source 1, Source 2
1. Shocking Surprise - While Spider-Man was chasing a hoodlum (who he believes to be Uncle Ben's killer) through an alley before he went to the abandoned gym, there were a pair of yellow pants, with red shoes, which were hanging on clothesline. This is a possible reference to one of Spider-Man's enemies, the Shocker. For more information about Shocker, click here.

Source
2. Master of Illusions - Just before Spidey swings to the aligned cranes to fight the Lizard, take a look at the moon. There is a cloud there which is positioned at the bottom of the moon, which peculiarly forms into a fish-bowl shaped helmet with a cape. This is again a possible reference to another Spidey foe, Mysterio. For more information about Mysterio, click here.

Source
3. Gwen Stacy Dies - On the same scene as the previous Easter egg as the web-head started to swing, the sound of his Spider Sense can be heard. It is quite difficult to be heard since the soundtrack is loud. The Brooklyn Bridge is also seen in the background. If heard and identified, a comic book fan will know that this is a reference to Gwen Stacy's death in the comics. This may even be foreshadowing future events in the succeeding films. For more information about Gwen Stacy's demise in the comics, click here.

Source
4. Lightning Strikes Twice - In the post-credits scene where in Dr. Conners is incarcerated, lightning flashes in the background and he is talking to the mysterious "Man in the Shadows". The lightning signals Electro's debut in the sequel, because Electro is mainly an electric manipulator. For more information about Electro, click here.

5. Hidden in the Shadows -The "Man in the Shadows" knows a lot about Peter's parents. Honestly, it could be anyone of Peter's parents' enemies or OsCorp thugs. Honestly, I don't know who it is. This isn't an Easter egg, but this is a little something from me to keep you all guessing. Good luck!
6. The Man - Spider-Man co-creator, Stan Lee makes a cameo as a librarian caught in the cross fire of Spidey and the Lizard's battle. Throughout the sequence, he is completely unaware that they are in a battle because he was wearing large headphones, but Spidey was able to save him just in time from being hit by a table.

Source
7. The Horns of the Rhino - In OsCorp Tower, a hologram of "The Tree of Life" was projected. There are several animals in the projection, and these animals are said may be used for the Cross-Species (Animal/Human Hybrid) experiment. If one looks closely, there is a rhino. This is yet another possible reference for the upcoming events. In other words, this references Rhino, another Spidey fiend. For more information about Rhino, click here.

8. Spidey's A Fan -Community star, Donald Glover is seen at the background of Peter's room, but in a poster form.

9. Flash of Lightning - Finally, near the end of the film with the Mysterio surprise, a flash of lightning was seen. This is another reference to Electro.

Quentin Tarantino

 Quentin Tarantino

Source  - Data

He's one of Hollywood's edgy directors, and you know him for his stylish violence.
Quentin Tarantino was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 27, 1963. As a video clerk, he discovered his passion for film making. He was able to create films that were mainly independent, backed-up with smart dialogue and writing. Many are in the opinion that his trademark violence on-screen is one of the things that make him a film genius. He became an Elvis Presley impersonator on a TV series called, "The Golden Girls", thus beginning his career.

While working at Video Archives, which was stationed in Manhattan Beach, California, he studied and was able to accomplish his first ever screenplay. It was titled, "True Romance". This was finished in 1987. However, with his co-worker and soon-to-be director named Roger Avary, they decided to sell the script to fellow director, Tony Scott. He also wrote the script for the controversial film, Natural Born Killers, which would later be Oliver Stone's film. He didn't have enough financial assistance to aid him in the development, so he decided to sell to Rand Vossler, his partner.

With the money he earned from selling True Romance, he was able to create the classic heist film, Reservoir Dogs. Fortunately for Tarantino, Harvey Keitel went on-board with the project and was able to receive finances from LIVE Entertainment. Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and many more eventually joined in. The result was a cult classic film that provided unquestionable entertainment. Every glory has a price however. A number of movie-goers claim that Tarantino copied the film "City of Fire", which was a Hong Kong movie with similar premise as that of Reservoir Dogs. Luckily, this was later put to rest.

Later on, he wrote the screenplay for the phenomenal Pulp Fiction, which has John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson teaming up in fancy suits, with wrestler Bruce Willis and the enigmatic Uma Thurman on a hunt for a mysterious gold watch. With its original story and cutting edge use of interweaving story lines, Pulp Fiction became one of the landmark films Tarantino has given Hollywood and us. This also overshadowed one of the scripts he sold, which was the extremely violent Natural Born Killers. But before Pulp Fiction was released, another sold script was released - his first script, True Romance.

The successes of both Pulp Fiction and True Romance lead to Tarantino's later discovery of his talents, including the superb return of Travolta after his recent failure, Staying Alive. He later acted in some unknown and known roles alike. He is famous even in television. He even directed an episode of ER and All-American Girl. He was also a screen writer, director and actor to other famous films.

His next work was Jackie Brown, which reunited Tarantino and Jackson.  The story brought them on a smuggling adventure from America to Mexico, together with Pam Grier, Robert De Niro, Michael Keeton and whole lot more who joined in the production of the movie, the movie became a success. After that, he made a guest appearance in the TV series, Alias.

For some time, he remained silent and not much update was heard from him. When 2002 came, news quickly spread about his next full-length feature, Kill Bill. Separated into two parts, marked Volume 1 and 2, the films follow Uma Thurman as "The Bride" on the trail of her former mentor and his lethal group of assassins, who destroyed her wedding day, including everyone in it. Volume 1 is obviously inspired by Asian cinematography, while Volume 2 is all chit-chat and few action sequences. Regardless, both volumes are massive achievements for Tarantino.

With the Kill Bill fiasco running loose, word spread out quickly that Tarantino would be a director in the remake of the slasher film, Friday the 13th and would even take part in Agent 007's new adventure in Casino Royale, but he didn't participate in either project. Instead, he teamed-up with long time friend Robert Rodriguez  in his adaptation of the gritty comic series, Sin City. With Sin City becoming a smash-hit, they united once more in the ultra violent film, Grindhouse. Tarantino directed the segment Death Proof in Grindhouse, wherein Kurt Russel goes on a Fast and Furious like face-off. Though his segment was praised, including Rodriguez's zombie epic, Planet Terror, audiences didn't understood that much, leading it to be released separately in the European regions.

Tarantino then directed a war-time film, which featured two interweaving stories on each protagonist's plans to assassinate Adolf Hitler. One of the stories feature Brad Pitt in it. It quickly became a famous film yet again, courtesy of Tarantino.

After that, he released his latest film, Django Unchained. A western epic that remakes the original Django, it stars Jamie Foxx as a slave trying to rescue his wife from the vicious Leonardo DiCaprio. This film also has Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson reuniting again with Tarantino. A truly wonderful and darkly comic experience indeed, this film also became a massive success.

With so many impressive films to his name, Quentin Tarantino is considered one of Hollywood's most prominent and intellectual film makers of all time. Wonder what he'll do next time?

Dateline Movies review Django Unchained, a new masterpiece from Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs)

What is the movie about?

Quentin Tarantino returns to the director's chair with his latest western epic. Back in the old west, a fellow slave named Django, played by Foxx (Collateral) encounters a bounty hunter and dentist named Dr. King Schultz, played by Waltz, (The Green Hornet). Dr. Schultz buys him from a group of slave traders and invites him to the life of bounty hunting. They picked their ultimate target, Calvin Candie, played by DiCpario, (Titanic), a ruthless plantation owner who also holds Django's missing wife, played by Washington, (Scandal). On their journey, they must avoid suspicion from Candie and his men, including his loyal slave, Stephen, played by Jackson, (Pulp Fiction) in order to save Django's wife and get out with their lives. Will they make it out?

What I think of the movie?

This movie is full of racist jokes, unbelievable gore (Tarantino's trademark), and heart-pounding action, and that's what makes this movie an unforgettable one. Perfectly blending dark comedy with western action, while accompanied by outstanding performances, Django Unchained, overall is a very impressive movie worth seeing for Tarantino fans everywhere. I'm excited to see him as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this May.
