From New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer, the Hobbit will return for the last time in The Battle of the Five Armies.  The first installment of the movie started with The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey in 2012 and was followed by The Desolation of Smaug  in 2013.  Peter Jackson, the director of the trilogy (also the director of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy), The Battle of the Five Armies describes the movie as the Defining Chapter of the trilogy.

Bilbo, Gandalf and the Company of Dwarves led by Thorin are forced to be involved in a war against an armed legions of Orcs' and Wargs' combatants as well as the terrifying fire-breathing dragon Smaug from acquiring a kingdom full of gold and treasures and destroying all of Middle-Earth.

The five armies involved in these epic battle are the Men of Esgaroth and Dale, the legendary Elves from the Elven-realm of Northern Mirkwood also known as the Woodland Realms led by Thranduil, and the Dwarves of Erebor against the fearsome and frightening armies of Orcs as well as the Wargs from the Misty Mountains.

Orlando Bloom returns as the heroic Legolas, the son of Thranduil, the Prince of the Woodland Realm, with his awesome fighting skills both in using his blade and arrow.

Luke Evans returns as Bard, the leader of the Men from Esgaroth and Dale.  Last time we saw him in Part Two of the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, he was reaching out for his long Black Arrow.  Will he be able to kill Smaug and save Lake Town from certain destruction?

Richard Armitage is back as Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of the Dwarves. Will he be able to recover his lost kingdom, Erebor, as well as its legendary treasures?

Evangeline Lilly returns as the Silvan Elf Tauriel, the Daughter of Mirkwood, the Head of the Mirkwood Elven Guards.  Although she is not in the original story created by JRR Tolkien, she was conceived by Director Peter Jackson as an addition to an otherwise male dominated film and was well received by the general public.  Will her feelings for Kili bloom?

Lee Pace as Thranduil, the Sindarin Elf, the King of the Woodland Realms and father to Legolas.  Will he make peace with the dwarves finally?

Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, the Hobbit from the Shire, the Ring-bearer in the Hobbit trilogy.  What role will he play in the success of Thorin's expedition as well as the destruction of Smaug?

Sir Ian Mckellen as Gandalf, the Grey.  Previously, we saw him held captive by the sinister Sauron.  Will he be able to escape and provide the much needed help by Bilbo and Thorin's company in the upcoming battle.

Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, the Noldorin Princess.  Will she be able to help Gandalf escape from the clutches of the Evil Sauron?

Witness the defining chapter of the Middle Earth saga this December.  See the final conclusion of the adventures of Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin and the Company of Elves in this epic and monumental film.  For now listen and immerse yourself to the "The Last Goodbye", the official music video of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies sang by Billy Boyd (whom you may not know plays the role of Peregrin "Pippin" Took, one of the Hobbits in The Lord of Rings Trilogy).
