Bad never looked better! Welcome once again to Dateline Movies, and today, we'll be discussing DC's third installment in their universe, Suicide Squad. Okay, I am quite cheating here. Yes, this movie still does not have a plot or a trailer (apart from some leaks and some posts), but it would be a mistake not to at least talk about this film. And here it is for our fifth Spotted! post, the Suicide Squad.

What we saw in the trailer?

Government agent Amanda Waller, played by Davis (How To Get Away With Murder), assembles the world's most sinister criminals in a prison known as Belle Reve. Known as the Suicide Squad, each member of the team has been given the task of doing much of the government's dirty work in exchange for a chance to reduce each of their rather quite lengthy prison sentences/terms.

A few of the candidates for the program include Deadshot, played by Smith, Captain Boomerang, played by Courtney (Terminator: Genisys), Harley Quinn, played by Robbie (Focus alongside Will Smith), the Enchantress, played by Develigne (Paper Towns), and the Joker, played by Leto (Dallas Buyers Club). Fellow operative Rick Flagg, played by Kinnaman (RoboCop reboot) has been assigned to keep the squad under control. Things go awry when one of them plans to betray the entire team, and a conspiracy within the government has been discovered. Can the squad keep it together?

1. No Laughing Matter: Were you a little bit shocked by the picture above? You should, because that is how the Joker should look like, creepy and masterfully intimidating, as seen in David Ayer's tweet. For our first hidden surprise, we take a look at what role will the Joker really play. Because of his unpredictable nature, it is possible that he may be the primary antagonist since Harley Quinn is only here to probably help him out to escape. He may even be a protagonist for once, but it depends mostly on what he thinks is necessary. There has been some chatter though that the Batman's nemesis may be incarcerated for the majority of the film, assisting the squad with valuable information regarding the underworld. That is the idea until a mass break-out occurred (more on that later).

2. The Dark Knight Cameos: And speaking of Batman, Ben Affleck was "spotted" (Saw what we did there?) on the set of Suicide Squad. Although several hints were given that he'll be a secondary focus in the story, meaning that he may be targeted by the squad for a time, but no one has confirmed yet that he may even have a cameo in the film. Does this mean Batman will be fighting the Suicide Squad?

3. Superevil!: In another possible cameo or full appearance, Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was hinted that he may be the primary target of the Suicide Squad, saying that he has someone very valuable that is now considered a property of the government. According to a source, Lex has obtained a certain Suicide Squad member, the Enchantress to be exact. There is a tip that the Joker may be asking for some help from Lex to be able to escape prison, or the Joker being a pawn in Lex's plan that involves several bombs in Gotham City, just like in Assault on Arkham (more on that later again). Either way, it would be interesting to see the two in a partnership.

4. Mr. and Mrs. Joker: Apart from Will Smith's Deadshot (more on him later) and the Joker being two of the most focused characters in the film, there is another one that is said to be the major protagonist of the movie, Harley Quinn. The reason for her place in the team is currently unspecified, apart from being a psychotic criminal who knows a thing or two about killing. Remember the bomb conspiracy with Lex and the Joker? Well, who do you interrogate in a certain crime? You question someone very close with the suspect, with that suspect being the Joker. This means that Harley Quinn is only in the squad to locate or disarm the bombs (if the bomb plot is even true). Also in the end, it is said that she may double-cross the entire team to the Joker in order to escape. Is it possible that the Joker asked Amanda Waller to recruit Harley Quinn so that he can escape?

5. An Eye For An Eye: Okay, I know some of you may have their own perspective on Will Smith's casting as Deadshot, but let's face it, you know somehow he can pull the role off. Come on, he is charismatic enough and an incredible wise-cracker. He can definitely do this properly. But enough about the actor, we're here about his character. A source posted a photo of Will Smith in a possible Deadshot civilian outfit, alongside another costumed figure, which is possibly an alternate suit or, as several Internet users claim, a Checkmate operative. For those who don't know it, Checkmate is a division headed by Amanda Waller, that mostly handles metahuman threats and goes with a trademark, namely Chess-based strategies and rankings. In addition, he may be trying to assassinate Lex Luthor, but failed and was apprehended.

Recently, David Ayer released an official look of Deadshot. See if you may like it.

6. Follow The Leader: We now all know that Joel Kinnaman will play Rick Flagg in the film, who may be the appointed leader of the pack. What is interesting to note though is that he may be the real bad guy as well. Whoa! Honestly, I have know idea why because even as a comicbook reader, I always see him as a hero, even though I haven't read much about him. It is said that he is simply following orders from his father, Rick Flagg Sr, who may be played by Ed Harris, although the real reason is still shrouded in mystery. It is too bad though that both Tom Hardy and Jake Gyllenhaal turned down the opportunity to play as Rick Flagg.

Top Row (From Left to Right): El Diablo, Black Manta and Doctor Hugo Strange

Middle Row: Killer Croc, Deathstroke and Plastique

Bottom Row: King Shark, General Wade Eiling and Slipknot
7. The Bad and the Brutal: Man, the spotlight really is on the villains in this movie. As recently confirmed, the film will be used to debut the villains who will be crossing paths with the other heroes of the DC Universe. Remember that entire jailbreak part with the Joker? Well, as it turns out, the villains breaking out would lead to their clashes with various heroes, and it looks like that the Joker or maybe even some members of the Suicide Squad may have a chance to escape. Since there are a lot of them, we'll show you all of them, as our last hidden surprise. Also, some of you may be curious as to why I did not add any of the other members in the cast. The reason was that it is possible that they may not be the primary focus of the film, and they are likely to be there for some instances only.

A. El Diablo: This fiery convict is a possible candidate for the Suicide Squad, as it was confirmed that he will be spending much of his time as a member. Jay Hernandez will portray El Diablo.

B. Black Manta: The brother of the King of Atlantis, Aquaman, Black Manta has always been a thorn in the side of several well-known superheroes. Although this is only a rumor, it is possible that he may be a part of the team or incarcerated. Common is rumored to play Black Manta.

C. Dr. Hugo Strange: A crazed and menacing psychiatrist, it has been mentioned several times that Hugo Strange may only be there to consult the Joker while the Joker remains in his cell. Ike Barinholtz will portray Hugo Strange.

D. Killer CrocLooking almost a lot like Marvel's the Lizard, Killer Croc was supposed to be a human, until a reptilian kind of disorder transformed him. He is a part of the squad. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will portray Killer Croc.

E. Deathstroke: For all the Arrow viewers out there, you probably knew Deathstroke and he would definitely be here, and no it's not Manu Bennett (probably). Deathstroke's purpose in the team is to be the eyes and ears of Amanda Waller, aside from Rick Flagg, as well as to ensure that nothing bad would happen. Deathstroke's appearance has, sadly, been dismissed.

F. Katana: Another one for the Arrow fans, Katana is one of the tertiary characters in the current season and is played by Rila Fukushima. She is also a full-time member, and though she may not be a villain, her attacks can kill you in a single hit. Although previously set to play PlastiqueKaren Fukuhara will portray Katana.

G. King Shark: This one is just a possibility, but he may be a future member. King Shark is a giant shark humanoid who may be one of Lex Luthor's lackeys. Raymond Olubowale will portray King Shark.

H. Gen. Wade Eiling: Although not really much of a member, Wade Eiling played a huge part in the Suicide Squad's comicbook history. He may only be here as a contractor on the squad's targets. Gary Sinise is rumored to portray Wade Eiling

J. Slipknot: Coming straight from the bottom of DC's barrel, Slipknot is a bizarre supervillain, who can turn any rope he possess into something powerful and indestructible (I'm not kidding). He is also a member of the squad. Adam Beach will portray Slipknot.

K. Killer Frost, Livewire and Blockbuster: These three are mostly cameos, and are rumored that they will appear in future installments of the DC Universe Film Series. None of them are confirmed to appear in the movie. Since there are several identities who have taken each mantle, it is unknown what incarnations will be present.

L. Steve Trevor: Although he may not be a bad guy, he may have a potential role here or yet in another film. Yet another cameo, Steve Trevor is to be remembered as the boyfriend of Wonder Woman and a government agent. Scott Eastwood will portray Steve Trevor.

M. Jonny Frost: A henchman of the Joker, Jonny Frost may have only appeared once in the comic world, but he has played one important role, he being the Joker's driver. Although initially believed that he will play as Deathstroke, Jim Parrack will portray Jonny Frost.

N. Plastique: Lastly, this one goes to the Flash fans out there. Plastique is the explosive femme fatale who can make anything that she touches combust. Platique's appearance in the film is currently unknown, unlike Deathstroke's.

Well that was fun. Hopefully the Suicide Squad will be a brilliant supervillian film, since it probably is the first time a group of bad guys get the spotlight. I guess this is where we part ways again. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Have you ever wondered what Jack Nicholson (who previously played the role of Joker in the 1989 Batman movie opposite Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne) felt about Jared Leto's Joker role? Well look no further. Just watch the video below. Thank you and Sayonara!!!
