New X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer! (Spotted!: Part 9.5)

Only the strongest will survive. From the large pool of superhero movies, one of them is a little overlooked, and that is X-Men: Apocalypse. Yeah, I know they've disappointed us with two movies already, and their studio really is clingy when it comes to their properties, but let us take time to appreciate director Bryan Singer's efforts to save the franchise from desolation with X-Men: Days of Future Past. Besides, it takes a lot of effort in preventing The Last Stand happen (Goodness gracious it was disappointing), and a lot of commitment to bring the entire franchise back on its feet. Anyway, let's quit praising, and let's see what the new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has in store! And no, Deadpool can't be featured in the post. Maybe next time?

Spotted! Hidden Surprises and Trivia (Spoiler Alert!)

Source
5. Frightful Four! (Oh wait...) - Above, we get to see Apocalypse's Four Horsemen.  Actually, I'm a little baffled at this version's Horsemen. For those who don't know (strangely), the four horsemen symbolize Death, Famine, Pestilence and War, and are mentioned in the Bible to be the ones to bring forth the end of the world! In the comics, they are various beings chosen by the titular villain to serve his wishes, and he also provided them with enhanced powers. Each time he returns, Apocalypse recruits strictly four individuals.

From research and some logic, we theorized what each of the members would represent in the movie. It can be said that Magneto would represent war, because obviously as you might have noticed from previous movies, he is at "war" with the humans. Archangel represents death because of the well-known angel of "death". Storm and Psylocke were tricky, especially since Psylocke was Death in the comics. Storm might be representing famine comparing on how a powerful storm would destroy crops, resulting in minimal food supply. That leaves us with Psylocke representing pestilence. It might be because of her telepathic abilities (power to enter minds) might be analogous to a plague which can infect a body. Oh good, Wikipedia just confirmed our theory!

6. Behold, My X-Men - This sure does feel a little a lot like Captain America: Civil War and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice all over again. I mean, the current Four Horsemen are technically heroes in the comics. Anyway, above is the second incarnation of the First Class X-Men. We get to see the entire roster of the movie, from Cyclops, to Jean Grey, to Nightcrawler, to the Beast, to Prof. X in the background and Quicksilver. What's intriguing here is that Mystique is front-and-center in this poster. It seems that Mystique may be leading the team in the field, which is actually new for the character, as Mystique was never a part of the X-Men. Oh wait she did? Well, that's weird. Also, where's Havok? Wasn't he shown alive in Days of Future Past?

In case you missed it, here's the latest trailer to the movie!

What we saw in the trailer?

7. "Things are better. The world is better." - Charles Xavier

"Just because there's not a war, doesn't mean there's peace. He's coming." - Raven / Mystique - Simply listening to Prof. X's words would automatically help the audience to picture what has happened since the Wolverine meddled with time travel, Terminator Style, and prevented the Sentinels from taking over the world! It's been said that the world is better, meaning that with the existence of Mutants now a public knowledge; people have accepted Mutants as brothers and sisters. We also get to see some glimpses of the fully-functioning Xavier's Institute For Gifted Youngsters. It truly is a better world for the X-Men.

8. "Some call him Apocalypse. He was some kind of god. For thousands of years he has been amassing Mutants, to take their powers. He always has four followers." - Moira MacTaggert

"Like the Four Horsemen." - Alex Summers / Havok - Hey here's Havok! The lines itself are pretty self-explanatory. We later on see Apocalypse merging with highly advanced extraterrestrial technology, which eventually resulted in him enhancing his powers. In the comics, these pieces of technology are crafted by the Celestials, a group of godlike beings (If you've been following on Guardians of The Galaxy, the name would sound familiar.). If we are to follow the comics, wherein he discovered the technology while he was an injured soldier in a cave, we could also get to see Kang The Conqueror, a time-travelling would-be world conqueror and classic Fantastic Four and Avengers enemy who was partially responsible for Apocalypse becoming who he is today. In the comics, Kang knew that Apocalypse would become dangerous, and so he decided to masquerade as a pharaoh to hunt him down before his powers manifest.

For more information on Kang The Conqueror, click here.

9. "Erik, don't join them." - Charles Xavier

"Whatever it is you think you saw in me, I buried it with my family." - Erik Lensherr / Magneto - Here we are again with Magneto being conflicted to join the other side because of his personal problems, and eventually (as we might see) switching sides because he's not entirely a bad guy. According to him, he lost his family. Would that family be Quicksilver's mother? We later on learned that Quicksilver was his son, a plot twist that everyone, even those who don't read the comics, should know by now. Quicksilver's mother might have been murdered by William Stryker, who we also learned later that he was back in the movie as a younger incarnation, who was actually targeting Magneto because of his involvement in Days of Future Past's Sentinel incident. However, we did see Magneto residing in a forest ranch, which signifies probably that he got over his vendetta towards the humans and moved-on to start a family, until Stryker came along.

10. "Together, we will cleanse the Earth. Everything they've built, will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we will build a better one!" - En Saban Nur / Apocalypse - Again, more self-explanatory dialogues. It is clear Apocalypse wants to take over the world, but not just rule upon what is available, he wants to destroy it first, then afterwards, build a new empire from its ashes. Basically, it's like Avengers: Age of Ultron, complete with the Biblical references, but minus the huge meteor allegory. So, it's the Age of Apocalypse then? (Comic readers will get that reference, because it looks like the movie is heading that route.)

11. "I have never felt power like this before." - Charles Xavier

"CHARLES!!!" - Mystique - In this scene, we might get to see a possible psychic battle between Professor X and Apocalypse. As said by Prof. X, his powers are so powerful, that he has not felt anything like that before. We could also assume that this really is a psychic battle as here, Prof. X can walk, and by the looks of it, he lost, because eventually we hear that Prof. X has been taken. But the question remains, if Apocalypse is all powerful, why would he need a psychic Mutant like Charles? Let's figure that out in the next hidden surprise.

12. "They've taken him. Raven, the world needs the X-Men." - Hank McCoy / Beast - Again, why would Apocalypse need Prof. X if he is already powerful enough? What if Apocalypse may be a strong Mutant, but not strong enough to rule an entire planet? If so, then he must be seeking to enhance his abilities, but in order to do that, he must seek-out one man who has a knack for genetics in all of Marvel-dom. A certain mister who is so sinister (Ahem!), that a mere word from his mouth would mean doom for the X-Men. That is none other than Nathaniel Essex, Mister Sinister. (If you still haven't figured out who he was when I gave the obvious hint, then you must have been living under a rock.) In the comics, Nathaniel Essex is an immortal Mutant geneticist, who has been obsessed with the Mutant Genome, that he believes mutation is the next stage in evolution, and was a very terrible father and husband. A frequent partner to Apocalypse, Mister Sinister became a recurring foe, especially to Cyclops, with whom he had an obsession for. Apocalypse might need Prof. X to further enhance with powers through Mister Sinister's experiments, not knowing that a more powerful Mutant is available, and that is Jean Grey.

For more information on Mister Sinister, click here.

13. "I'm not a hero." - Mystique

"Students look up to you." - Beast

"If I'm going to teach your kids something, I'm going to teach them how to fight." - Mystique - It seems that, even with Days of Future Past making her the main reason why the world nearly came to an end in the first place, Mystique's reputation is still predominantly high, as Beast remarks that students see her as a role model. This exchange also cements Mystique's role in the movie as a field leader and instructor to the new recruits of the X-Men.

14. "Follow me." - Mystique

"You're her?" - Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler - After seeing a glimpse of Nightcrawler's past time, and Angel's appearance before having enhanced metallic wings, which is the one we saw when the Four Horsemen assembled (provided by Mister Sinister in the comics.), Mystique and Nightcrawler make their escape, only to hear Nigthcrawler acting excited in front of Mystique, as if he recognizes her. It could be fame, but she could also be his mother. In the comics, Nightcrawler's mother is none other than Mystique, which explains his trademark blue skin (Seriously, is anyone in the movie not wearing blue?). Those teleporting powers are familiar, however, as we saw someone else in red using said abilities in X-Men: First Class. That is Azazel. Again in the comics, Mystique, disguised as a German noblewoman, had an affair with Azazel, eventually giving birth to Nightcrawler. If you might remember from First Class, Mystique and Azazel joined forces with the remainders of the Hellfire Club to form a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants for a short time. It is possible that the two had a brief romance in their respective time in the team.

For more information on Azazel, click here.

15. "I'm not afraid of him. Magneto, he's my father." - Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver

      "What?" - Mystique

"Y'know, my mom and..." - Quicksilver

"Yeah, I know." - Mystique - And there we have it, Quicksilver really is Magneto's child. It was briefly hinted last time in X-Men: Days of Future Past that Quicksilver's mother knew someone who can move metal. It was possible that, as previously mentioned, that he was motivated to join the team because his mother was killed. This seems somewhat unlikely now that we saw Quicksilver's home totally untouched, and very distant from where Magneto was currently living in.

16. "Not all of us can control our powers." - Scott Summers / Cyclops

"Then don't. This is war." - Mystique - More scenes of Mystique being a leader are presented, and it is very evident that the X-Men are almost inexperienced when it comes to fighting bad guys like Apocalypse. This means that they are not that ready yet to fight the villain. Just a comment. I'm a little disappointed that they decided to discard their trademark yellow outfits that they wore in First Class. I liked the yellow ones better. Besides, dark costumes are getting more and more common place.

17. "Apocalypse means to destroy this world." - Charles Xavier - Yet more exposition. Here, we see some nuclear missiles being launched, which is kind of intriguing. What if the missiles are all part of Apocalypse's plan to rule the world? He might have picked-up some notes from Sebastian Shaw, who was played by Kevin Bacon (Footloose) in First Class, as he might also know that the nuclear strikes would not harm the majority of mutants, but it will harm all the humans. Survival of the fittest, indeed. Unless, this is the governments of the world turning their backs once more against the Mutants in the aftermath of Apocalypse's attacks. It might be possible that the governments became so concerned with Apocalypse's godlike powers that they decided to launch everything they have, and by everything I mean the entire nuclear missile defense. Will Apocalypse win?

18. "It's all of us against a god. The most powerful beings on Earth." - Beast - We get to see some awesome action here. Not much hidden surprises, but there are tons, and I mean tons of slick action sequences. We do, however, get to see Angel receiving his metallic wings, and clearly he is very mad. It might be because of Nightcrawler and Mystique defeating him earlier, or it might be because Stryker experimented on him, forcibly granting him his unwanted wings.

19. "Forget everything you think you know. None of that matters. You're not students anymore..." - Mystique

"I'll take everything from them." - Magneto

"You're X-Men!" - Mystique - We finally see Stryker in full form, and played by the same actor, Josh Helman, who portrayed him in Days of Future Past. Like I said, Apocalypse might seek the aid of Mister Sinister to enhance his powers, but what if he is instead seeking another expert in Mutant genetics? Sure, it might simply be just a government raid on the school, but what if Apocalypse is using Stryker to collect Mutant samples. Obviously, Stryker and Apocalypse would, never in a million years strike a partnership, but what if Stryker is working for Mister Sinister, who he thinks is just an average scientist and who in turn, is working for Apocalypse? If so, who knows what Apocalypse may do with all the Mutants at his disposal.

20. "Well you've been busy." - Mystique

"We had a little help." - Cyclops - And now we come to the last hidden surprise, that is Wolverine's possible involvement in the battle against Apocalypse. I would go into detail how this might play-out, but the post is getting really long again.

So while you wait for the next post to come out, please enjoy Quicksilver's finest moment from Days of Future Past. Also, as you can see, we're posting a lot recently with mostly comicbook movies. That is actually because of the large number of superhero movies that are set to be released this year. You must be getting tired from the superhero scene? Well I recommend watching Birdman, it's a good movie! Speaking of which, I better review that movie! Now is the break that I require, I bid you all farewell.

No matter who wins or loses, trouble still comes around, said Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. This year has been called the time when heroes couldn't get along, but the villains can. Today, I got the chance to see this with three of my friends from school, but sadly most of my "katropa" are not around. But it was still an enjoyable experience, even with just the three of us, and the hundred other people trying to get to the entrance. Is this movie as good as the critics and fans say? Let's find out in Dateline Movies' review for Captain America: Civil War. Also since this movie is yet to come out in other theaters, do note that there are plenty of spoilers in this review! It would be wise to avoid spoilers!

What is the movie about?

The world has never been the same since the destruction of Sokovia, indirectly done by the hands of superhero Iron Man, played by Downey Jr. (Tropic Thunder), who was originally attempting to jump start a peacekeeping program. When people once saw hope soaring through the skies, they now see death and destruction.

To keep the peace in-check, the United Nations have banded together to form the Sokovia Accords, an act which will hopefully keep the superheroes accounted for and to keep collateral damage to a minimum. Captain America, played by Evans (Playing It Cool), completely disagrees with the act, with the Falcon, played by Mackie (Pain & Gain) and the Scarlet Witch, played by Olsen (Oldboy) siding with their comrade. They believe that there is a chance they need to act without supervision. Iron Man, however, supports the act strongly after feeling guilty for the events in Age of Ultron, with War Machine, played by Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda), the Vision, played by Bettany (Margin Call) and the Black Widow, played by Johansson (We Bought A Zoo) standing by his decision.

source
Tension within the team escalates further after a congressional hearing regarding the Sokovia Accords has been bombed by the Winter Soldier, played by Stan (The Martian). Caught in the crossfire is Wakandan prince T'Challa, also known as the Black Panther, played by Boseman (Message From The King), who joins Iron Man's cause after watching his father die in front of him. Captain America takes it upon himself to investigate Bucky's case, while Iron Man does everything in his power to apprehend Bucky.

source
To prove Bucky's innocence, the Captain gathers Falcon, Scarlet Witch, a resurfacing Hawkeye, played by Renner (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation) and the Falcon's requested ally, Ant-Man, played by Rudd (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). Preventing their investigation is Iron Man's team, composed of War Machine, Vision, Black Widow, Black Panther and newcomer Spider-Man, played by Holland (In The Heart of The Sea). The Captain and his allies must race against time to hunt down the mastermind behind the bombing, Helmut Zemo, played by Brühl (Inglorious Basterds), who has a score to settle with the heroes.

What we think of the movie?

Acting = (5/5)

There's a time in every acting career when an actor may start "phoning it in" after reprising the role more than once or twice now. It is true though, just ask Daniel Craig, who really wants to exit his contract. Fortunately, the acting is very far from simply being a presence. Here, the performances are much more intense, brutal, dramatic, and above all emotional.

Chris Evans, who I've heard is really happy with his time as the titular character, delivers a powerhouse performance. I have to agree with the fans here yet again, because Marvel surely does have a keen eye on their actors, and Chris Evans is one of their greatest casting choices so far. He really is the definitive big-screen Captain America. His real-life charm and wits properly reflects the heroic and somewhat hard-headed traits of the protagonist. He really is the star of the show. The friend you could always count on, and a very conflicted character.
source
Along for the ride is veteran Marvel actor Robert Downey Jr. who, for his sixth film in the franchise (seven if you'll include his cameo in The Incredible Hulk) ditches the cartoonish quips and one-liners from Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron. This time, get ready to see an Iron Man that you loved from the comics translated brilliantly and acted solidly in the movie. He is in pain, and he knows he is partly responsible for it. This is the Iron Man everyone has been looking for. A struggling and imperfect hero, yet he is still a man who wants peace not just for himself, but for the entire world. RDJ is not a man playing Iron Man, he is Iron Man! (Ironically, he did destroy an Iron Man comicbook back at his high school days.)

Chadwick Boseman amazingly portrays Black Panther in the character's first big-budget movie appearance. Not bad for a newbie, eh? Despite his relative and reasonable short screen time, the King of Wakanda makes use of the short minutes he has and spent it all wisely. I can't go any further with his performance though, because I am still waiting for his upcoming solo movie to give me a complete overview of his range. But all I have to say for his performance is that it is superb.

source
Daniel Brühl is one of my favorite actors. Okay sure, I just saw only two movies (Inglorious Basterds and Rush) that has him in a major role, but you have to admit it, he is one heck of an actor. Well, we've seen bad guys trying to steal technology for profits, stereotypical revenge dudes and the most familiar of all, the cliched would-be world conquerors. Brühl's Zemo may be the revenge guy, but he doesn't have an army, or a world-ending weapon. What he has though are cunning intelligence, and as he puts it "a lot of patience". His performance makes him one of the best villains so far, next to the Kingpin from Daredevil and Kilgrave from Jessica Jones. Besides, his plan is pretty small-scale and personal, which only enhances his strengths. Zemo really is a force to be reckoned with, despite being gone for about half of the movie.

This section is getting too long, so I'll make it quick with this one and summarize the other performances. With the large roster of characters, it is said that the number of heroes would make the movie crowded. Luckily, it wasn't, and all actors were given proper screen time, gave the audience some laughs with their funny jokes, and overall wowed us with their coolness. These heroes were often viewed as "perfect", but here, they are much more human-like. Their performances are relatable and heartfelt.

Even though all performances are kicked into high-gear, the scene-stealer of the entire movie is none other than The Amazing Spider-Man! Tom Holland is worthy of filling-in the gaps Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield left upon their dismissals. He managed to balance the dorky and geeky side of Peter Parker with the traditional heroics and teenage antics one may expect from a hero like Spider-Man. I really can't wait for his first solo movie in next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming!

source
Also, Stan Lee's cameo was hilarious! You have to wait for quite some time, though.

Production Value and Cinematography = (5/5)

Five Words; Best Airport Fight Scene Ever! Unlike Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (Sorry DC fans. Please don't kill us for this. Hey, we still enjoyed that movie!), Civil War makes use of the non-CGI-related stunts to give an action-packed choreography. I have been waiting the entire movie for some Avenger versus Avenger butt whooping, and it truly did impressed me, even beyond my usual expectations. A lot happened in the anticipated Airport Scene, especially with Spider-Man's battle with the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Each take on every fight that occurred in that scene, it was excellent. Besides, they managed to mix some comedy and drama into it. This was the gem of the whole movie!

However, the one that is equally as thrilling as the Airport Dish-Out is the Breakout Scene. When Zemo brainwashes Bucky into causing chaos in a government facility, it all escalated quickly. The best bit was when Iron Man, Agent 13, played by Emily VanCamp (Revenge), Black Widow and Black Panther pulled punches one-by-one. The fight between Iron Man and Bucky while Iron Man uses a mechanical gauntlet was pretty awesome! Did I also mention Martin Freeman (Sherlock) was here? It was more or less a cameo, but still great nevertheless.

Another important and at the same time intense fight scene was the Highway Chase between the Captain, Winter Soldier and the Black Panther. It reminded me a lot of the brutality Daredevil showed in its prelude with the police trying to capture Bucky. When we finally get to the chase, it was all sorts of fun and excitement. Don't get me started with Bucky using a battering ram to beat-up an officer.

source
Overall, all of these scenes were well choreographed and splendidly executed, and they put the more practical effects to good use. In addition, I commend giving Hawkeye a redemption here for giving him a chance to show-off his skills against the Vision.

Story, Dialogue and Flow = (5/5)

This section, and the next part, of our review is completely full of spoilers, so if you want to avoid them, now's the best time to leave.

Now, the story is overall spectacular, both in execution and writing. I enjoy how the story completely delved deeper into the emotional sides of our heroes, the parts of most superhero movies that are rarely explored, as they are often sacrificed for computer-generated explosions and flashes. This one actually made me understand what these heroes feel and struggle to accomplish. The theme of government accountability is well explained here, as it explores greatly how sometimes superheroes aren't always here to save the day, especially with the events of Age of Ultron.

source
How the movie elaborated Zemo's plans with a surprise twist was the cherry on my cake. At first, I thought he was the typical rule-the-world kind of guy, just like what we originally theorized with his "master plans". He kept on mentioning about toppling an empire. It took me two hours to finally make me realize that the motivation behind his evil deeds is to avenge his family, who died in Sokovia. Rarely have I heard a supervillain that is out for avenging rather than the typical ruined-my-reputation kind. It really shows that, as Tony Stark would quote, "we create our own demons". Also, props to Marvel for not killing Zemo! Now, if he could lead the Masters of Evil soon.

People kept on saying this was going to be an Avengers 2.5 movie, because of the grand roster of characters the movie has in store. I myself was a little bothered that the movie might not be able to balance the various story arcs that will be featured. Thankfully, it was well-balanced. Sure, Ant-Man, War Machine Hawkeye and Agent 13 didn't necessarily have proper arcs, especially that the first two did arrive a little late in the movie, but the movie gave them enough screen time to leave an impression.

Ending, Originality and Story Fulfillment = (4/5)

By the time we reached the ending, wherein Zemo ticks Iron Man off by revealing to him that Bucky killed his parents, and to Iron Man's surprise as well, that Captain America knew the entire time, Iron Man became totally angry that the three engaged in a two versus one death match. It was an emotional and a very intriguing sequence in the movie. It shows how much of their friendship, which started when the Avengers formed for the first time, has been shattered by Cap's sympathy towards his best friend, and Iron Man's conscience. It was a very emotional rollercoaster, and it ends with very hopeful and enthusiastic teases for both the Black Panther and Spider-Man, and a little bleak future for the Avengers, now that half of the members are fugitives from the United Nations. In addition, the mid-credits scenes also shows how Black Panther realized his rage consumed him to the point that he wanted to murder Bucky, and eventually having him mend fences with the Captain.

source
The only thing that I was disappointed on was that the movie wasn't that reliable to the source material, or in general, live-up to everyone's expectations. I was expecting a little bit more screentime for Hawkeye and Ant-Man, same with Agent 13. Then again it was for the better to divert a little from the source material. It really was crowded to begin with. Also, I might have been over hyped with all the clips. Also, killing-off Crossbones was a little bit disappointing. And not seeing the Iron-Spider armor was also a little letdown. In all honesty, this was still a great movie!

Overall Evaluation = (5/5)

source
The movie is a remarkably paced and choreographed superhero thriller that expands the envelope for Marvel's growing potential for their Phase 3, and it looks like a very good audition for the Russos to helm the next Avengers films.

TOTAL = 24/25 (Masterpiece)

Opening Phase 3 with a bang, Captain America: Civil War showcases less of the blinding flashes and more of the traditional action, mixed with amazing performances and a thought-provoking story, and what seems like the start of something new for Marvel!

Whew! That was such an awesome movie! I wish that we could get enough money to watch it again, but this time with my family! Besides, it's too good for just one viewing! Are you excited for Civil War? Let us know in the comments! Also, help yourself to a weird version of the Civil War trailers.

Where is Hulk and Thor While Civil War is Happening? (A Spotted! Tie-In)

Source
Captain America: Civil War is making waves faster than Quicksilver running, and one of the many questions that are lingering in the TV minds of fans everywhere is this, "Where is Hulk and Thor?". Aside from logical conclusions, such as the fight between #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan would be over in only a matter of minutes if these two mighty Avengers were involved, there are many speculations regarding the whereabouts of these two, and we have some interesting theories on wherever they are on the universe! Join us here at Dateline Movies, and maybe, just maybe, we can figure out what would they be doing while the Avengers dish each other out.

Spotted! Hidden Surprises and Trivia (Spoiler Alert!)

First, let's take a look back at what has happened to Thor during Age of Ultron. The last time we saw him, he was mind-controlled by the Scarlet Witch, into experiencing his deepest fears, but not after underestimating her abilities. In his weird Asgardian rave dream, we saw that Heimdall, played by Idris Elba (Pacific Rim), is somehow losing his mind. We saw that the pupils in his eyes were missing, and when asked by Thor what has happened, Heimdall replied, "We are all dead! Can you not see?". Afterwards, we saw some brief flashes of some stones, until finally he returned to reality.

We later learned that the stones in Thor's vision were the Infinity Stones, which included the Tesseract, the Sceptre, the Aether and the Orb - all of which are mystical artifacts of power. This leads him to investigate further into Asgard. Okay he's just going to do some research and come back right? But, did you all forget that a certain trickster is masquerading as Odin?
Yep that's right, Loki's back again. After faking his death in Thor: The Dark World, Loki makes his way to Asgard, and is suspected of probably killing Odin, leading to him playing your highness in Asgard. In other words, Loki has taken over Asgard. The probable reason why he may not be joining the conflict is because maybe Loki has captured Thor. But isn't Thor a God and he would never give-up easily? We'll get back to Thor later, but now let's see what's the Hulk been up to?
When we last saw the Green Goliath, he sends himself to an exile using one of the Quinjets. Now hiding and very much away from all of his friends. Although some might say this is a set-up for a Planet Hulk adaptation, I believe it is something else far more interesting, but that does not rule-out the possibility.
Loki, still angry at the Hulk for beating him up, decides to capture Bruce Banner, wanting to use him as a secret weapon of his own, which brings us to another Marvel movie. That is Thor: Ragnarok!

Note that both Mark Ruffalo and the studio itself confirms that the Hulk is in the third Thor movie. It would make perfect sense now! What if the reason why they aren't in Civil War is because Thor is captured and Hulk is enthralled?

So what does this mean for Thor: Ragnarok? I believe the story would go like this.

Thor escapes captivity, and helps the Hulk escape Loki's control. However, they are outnumbered as Loki has a lot of minions, including a handful of Frost Giants, Dark Elves and many more beasts! However, they are forced to team-up with Loki to combat the maniacal Surtur, a powerful being hellbent (literally) on enslaving the Nine Realms.

So I guess that's our entire speculation right there. What do you think will happen in Thor: Ragnarok?

Baron Zemo's Civil War Plans? (A Spotted! Tie-In)

Source
And we're back! Last post, we weren't able to tackle the mysterious Baron Zemo's grand scheme in the movie! Don't blame us! The post was getting really long anyway, so it's really best to save an entire story for last! Also, wasn't our previous post already a tie-in? Well the difference here is that our .5 posts are updates of entries, while tie-ins refer to the bits and pieces that are lengthy and deserve their own post. So without further ado, here is Baron Zemo's sinister plans, based on our observations. This is Dateline Movies, and please don't be mad at us because of the possible spoilers! But first, here's an international TV spot featuring the villain in some shots!

Spotted! Hidden Surprises and Trivia (Spoiler Alert!)

To recap, we had two theories on how Zemo fits in the story.

Theory 1 is about Tony Stark and Zemo joining forces as Zemo masquerades as a philanthropic figure who helped designed the Raft. The two were able to capture and brainwash the Winter Soldier in hopes that he may cause an incident that will push forward the Sokovia Accords, a bill that forces heroes to be controlled by the government. Unfortunately, things go awry, as the Winter Soldier goes berserk, and Zemo instead blew-up the building, much to Tony's grief.

While Theory 2 follows the Winter Soldier attempting to stop a bomb that will result in the Sokovia Accords being passed. He instead encounters Tony Stark, who is furious that he killed his parents, and the two engage on a standoff. With them distracted, Zemo blows-up the building and frames Bucky for the incident. The following would describe possibly Zemo's master plan in the film. Note that the predictions below support both theories.

Zemo tasks Crossbones and at least a few HYDRA agents to steal a viral strain from the IFID facility. To keep the Avengers at bay, Crossbones had to take some hostages. If they try to attack, one hostage will be killed, or possibly, release a contagion that can wipe out an entire county.

In the meantime, Zemo is placing a bomb in the United Nations congress during the hearing on the Sokovia Accords, hoping that the Accords will pass. Bucky, after tracing Zemo, tries to stop the bombing, but is prevented by Tony, who thinks he's up to no-good. If we are to follow Theory 1, Zemo and Tony allow a brainwashed Bucky to start an incident that can pass the act, but Zemo double-crosses him, and instead detonates a bomb, which was never a part of their deal.

Successfully framing Bucky, he now has all the heroes distracted, with Captain America trying to clear his name, while Tony is hellbent on apprehending Bucky. The next phase of his plan moves him to Wakanda who, as we would expect, is in need of some Vibranium. In the comics, raw Vibranium is powerful yet highly unstable, with a blast radius reminiscent to a missile. This means he wants to create a contagion bomb which, if combined with the virus he obtained and the raw Vibranium, would be a doomsday weapon.

This will eventually lead us to the Airport Fight Scene. Zemo, as he gazes at the chaos of his master plan from his fortress, is inserting the contagion bombs in the planes, which of course would then go to various places all across the globe. Once landing, the planes will detonate, and it will kill about a million people in theory, and from the survivors he will start a new world order controlled by HYDRA.

But how does Tony Stark fit-in his plans if we are to follow Theory 1? Simple, he needed an army. Zemo, acting as an anonymous architect to the Raft (given that he seems to know this particular Airport that we saw, he might have some knowledge on engineering and architecture.), knows that Stark needed a holding area for the heroes, and he knows that a regular prison won't hold them. As such, he designs the Raft. In addition, he is also counting-on Tony's grief to have him distracted from his plans.

He might have some brainwashing technology, similar to what HYDRA used on Bucky and what he allegedly used on the Vision, which he might use to control the heroes to fulfill the final stages of his plans!

Also let me just say, I think Captain America will die. According to various sources and fans, reading Bucky's lips would suggest that he is saying "Steve's dead!". So no more Chris Evans? Ohhhhh.

And there we have it, Zemo's plans are theorized completely and neatly. Up next, we'll need to find-out where are Thor and Hulk? In the mean time, I bid you all farewell, and enjoy Zemo and Iron Man enjoying a taste of Berlin!
