Source
You must be getting a little worried at our lack of recent posts. I have a pretty good excuse for that, and you know what every teenager such as I encounter at the end of every school quarter. Yep, examinations, but that is not the end of the story. What followed is a series of unfortunate events that made me sacrifice sleep, food and energy, and all of them are for school projects. Oh well, I guess there really is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, as said by a classmate of mine. But do you want to know what made this week worth it, besides my need to vent out my emotions? Trailers, and we have boat loads of them thanks to the other Comic Con, the New York Comic Con. Come one, come all, for Dateline Movies has all the trailers previewed at this convention, in case you have missed them. We also have the latest teaser for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Passengers, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, because someone has to post about them someday! Besides, all of the three look pretty good.

Power Rangers

Five young friends, Jason Lee Scott, Trini Kwan, Billy Cranston, Zack Taylor and Kimberly Hart are rejected by the majority of their classmates at their school in their seemingly quiet neighborhood of Angel Grove. One day, while investigating a mysterious part of their town, they stumble upon five colorfully distinct items, which grants them powers. With this discovery, they must don the mantles of the Power Rangers, and must be ready to save the world from an intergalactic threat in the form of Rita Repulsa! Man, I hope this movie turns out to be better than the other TV show adaptations we have had recently.

Recent confirmations include the casting of Bryan Cranston as Zordon, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and the appearance of Goldar.

War for the Planet of the Apes

After a power struggle between Caesar and the now deceased Koba resulted in the destruction of the neighboring human community of San Francisco, human reinforcements, led by a nefarious Colonel, are out to exterminate the primate threat once and for all, so that the future of the human race may be preserved. The fate of the world lies in this very battle, as Caesar struggles to either talk things out peacefully with the humans, or give in to his darker side.

Underworld: Blood Wars

As the never-ending war between Vampires and Lycans continue to ravage the world, Selene must evade betrayal and capture from both sides of the revolution, as both factions sought her blood. This is because it is said that her blood would grant absolute power for the would-be victor of the ongoing chaos. However, things become much more complicated for Selene as her daughter is caught in the crossfire, since her blood is also being sought for the same purpose. Now, Selene must do battle with even more monsters of the night, and hopefully, make a good installment in their franchise.

The Great Wall

A long time ago, the Great Wall of China was built from the ground up to prevent an ancient evil force from taking over their lands. Now, witness the fictional account of the epic adventure behind this landmark, through the eyes of Matt Damon's William Garin, who, as said in previous interviews for the movie, is totally not the white savior cliche of the flick. For humanity's sake, Garin and his small band of warriors must make their last stand at the great wall, before these malevolent creatures rule the Earth!

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, for the final chapter (Finally!) to the overstretched and overdone movie series, based on the beloved survival-horror video game series of the same name, is coming! After several battles against the waves of zombies, and eventually, mutated zombies, as well as zombie animals, Alice and her allies will have to return to the place where it all began, Raccoon City, and together, they have to put a halt to Umbrella Corporations mysterious agendas before they kick-start their new world order. Personally, I am not a fan of this film series, as much as I am not a fan of the Underworld movies, but like all the other films here, I am willing to give it a shot.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Now let us get to the trailers not shown in the recent event, but are definitely worth your time. Also, two great movies are coming-out this Christmas season, so help yourself to either of them - Passengers starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence and the other movie, the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean starring Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Set after the fall of the Jedi Order, and before Luke Skywalker dethroned Emperor Palpatine from the seat of intergalactic power, the Galactic Empire begin the construction of their powerful weapon of mass destruction, which is obviously by now, the Death Star. Without any other options to explore, the Rebel Alliance recruit Jen Erso, with other Rebel loyalists to infiltrate the Death Star and save the galaxy far, far away!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Johnny Depp is back to doing what he does best, be the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow and continue to pillage the seven seas for an endless amount of treasure. Unfortunately for Jack, an old nemesis from his adventurous past has come back to literally haunt him. That man is Captain Salazar, an infamous pirate who was once thought dead after being trapped in the Bermuda Triangle. Now, with vengeance at his heart, Jack must seek a powerful weapon that can finally put the ghost to rest, and maybe, even meet a few familiar faces along the way.

If you have not noticed by now, we accidentally published this post without exactly completing it. We apologize for that, but hey, at least we got all of you updated on the latest trailers from the New York Comic Con. And besides, would we ever end a post without thanking you for reading? Anyway, we might as well keep excited for these upcoming movies, which are, by coincidence, all not comicbook-based. You can say that Power Rangers is based on comicbooks, because they have a comicbook series, but they started out in television.

To successfully close our post, we wanted to share a viral fan-made video done by Adi Shankar, the executive producer of the fan-favorite Dredd, which is a darker and grittier take on the beloved and usually kid-friendly Power Rangers. Unfortunately, they were not joking when they said that the short film is "not safe for work". Not because it has any steamy action, but because of language, and we all now how sensitive some ears are.

Instead, here is a video of Keanu Reeves totally nailing it as John Wick. It is a behind-the-scenes clip of Keanu Reeves engaging in a target practice. Stay tuned for more Dateline Movies!
