Dateline Movie Spotlight: Fan Bingbing

Most people do not know who Fan Bingbing is. Well, here are some refreshers for you. You might not have noticed her in her last big movie, the seventh installment of Marvel's X-Men film franchise, X-Men: Days of Future Past which was released way back in 2014. Her name was overshadowed by her more popular Hollywood co-stars like Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.  

She appears as Blink, the mutant capable of creating a portal that can be used for teleportation.  

Incidentally, she also appeared very, very briefly (barely anyone noticed it) in the third installment of Marvel's Iron Man 3 for its movie release in China.  She appeared as an assistant Dr. Yao Wu played by Wang Xueqi whom Tony Stark spoke to in a New Year's Eve party.   Fan Bingbing appeared as Wu Jiaqi.

Recently, Forbes made a list of The World's Highest Paid Actresses for 2016 and included in the said list is the only Chinese actress and the second Asian actress appearing on the said list.  She landed at number 5 of the top ten list.  

Aside from acting she also made advertisements and endorsements in numerous well known brands like the Swiss watch and jewelry maker Chopard...

She is also a producer, a popular television star in her country and a good singer, having released an album in 2005 through Warner Music Beijing Co.,Ltd.    
Fan Bingbing was born on September 16, 1981 at the large Eastern City of Qingdao in the province of Shandong.  She graduated from two prestigious acting schools in China namely the Shanghai Xie Jin Film and Television Art College and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, an academy dedicated to the education of dramatic art.  

And for those of you who still might not know who Fan Bingbing is, she has signed a four-film contract with 20th Century Fox, so chances are you will notice her in the future.
